Mission Statement
Mothers Helping Mothers Inc. is a refuge in which teen & young mothers in need of support and guidance can receive mentoring and educational encouragement that offers empowerment in such a way that it promotes positive self-esteem while enhancing teen parenting skills.
Our Founder
Hello my name is Cortesha V. Sanders the founder of Mothers Helping Mothers Inc. I started MHM after I saw a big need in Columbus Ohio in 2009. I am from Lima, Ohio and I moved to Columbus in 2000. I was also a teen mother. I had my son at 16 years old, but I did not see some of the things teen mothers of Columbus, Ohio do. My heart broke when I saw my first teen mother here without a place to go. So I started MHM, this ministry will help teen mothers of OHIO when it’s done growing. I see this all over the world. I have worked hard to get this ministry / community center open. As a teenage mother I understand the needs and gaps in the services that are currently available to teenage mothers who are in need of food, clothing, shelter, daycare, and educational resources. MHM provides support and resources in one location to eliminate teen mom’s challenges of visiting multiply agencies which can become costly and time consuming for the teen mothers because of their existing restraints which ultimately deters teenage moms from getting the much needed help she and her baby need. My MOTIVATION is to see the healthy life of a teen mother and her baby. That at the end of the day they are safe and on the right track for success.

Mothers Helping Mothers (MHM) is a non-profit organization that reaches out to the ever growing population of teenage and young adult mothers in Central Ohio. MHM strives to be a beacon of hope and safe haven to young mothers without suitable housing during their pregnancy.
